In commemoration of World Environment Day 2025, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Institute of Technology, Tanakpur, organized an insightful and action-oriented event on 5th June 2025 to raise awareness and encourage action for the protection of our environment.
🌿 Theme:
“Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience” – in line with the global UN Environment Programme theme for this year.
🌍 Event Highlights:
✅ Tree Plantation Drive:
Faculty, staff, and students actively participated in a campus-wide plantation drive. Over 150 saplings of native tree species were planted, promoting biodiversity and a greener campus.
✅ Student Poster Presentation & Slogan Competition:
Students showcased creative posters and powerful slogans based on environmental themes. Winners were awarded certificates and eco-friendly gifts.
✅ Campus Cleanliness Drive:
Volunteers from all departments took part in a cleanliness initiative around the campus and nearby areas, reinforcing the message of responsible waste management.
💬 Message from the Director:
Prof. Hardwari Lal Mandoriya, Director of AKIT, addressed the gathering and encouraged everyone to become environmental ambassadors in their own capacity. He stressed that “true development must go hand-in-hand with environmental conservation.”
