Prof. Onkar Singh
It’s heartening to observe that the spring semester 2023-24 will be completed soon as per the Academic Calendar. After continuous hard work of students and teachers for nearly 4 months, the end semester examinations will be held as per the schedule declared by the University.
This is high time for teachers to wind up the syllabus and students to get geared for their summative assessment of their learnings throughout the semester. Also, the institutions ought to make special arrangements for those who need extra support in learning or missed regular learning opportunities and hopefully the same is being taken care of by each head of the institution in the University.
The ultimate objective is to make students learn and prepare them for faring well while ensuring that the integrity of the academic processes is kept intact. The institutions should make necessary corrections concerning academic improprieties, if any, in the interest of the students.
The sanctity of examinations is to be maintained in the larger interest of the students pursuing their education in the ecosystem of this University. Therefore, special measures are to be taken by the Institutions to prepare their students well so that none attempts any unfair means in examinations.
It is inevitable to hold both the theory and practical examinations veraciously to protect the long-term interests of present and past students of the university. Every stakeholder in the UTU ecosystem should come forward and contribute in the overall good of technical and professional education in the University.
It goes without saying that mischievous attempts of unfair practices in examinations lead to an overall decline in the reputation and perception of your university.
With the ensuing completion of academic session 2023-24, the registration/admission process for admitting students in 2024-25 has also begun. The single window admission system is to be practiced like the last academic session 2023-24.
For this, every institution must showcase its best propositions in alignment with the university’s mission of “excellence with accountability”. Undoubtedly, there is a competing environment for attracting the best minds, but the same is not impossible with the concerted efforts of all institutions across the state.
The well-crafted NEP 2020 compliant UG and PG programs in engineering, technology, management, hotel management, law, and pharmacy of the University have the potential to offer a bright future to each one who pursues them wholeheartedly.
At this juncture, I call upon all teachers in the affiliated / campus institutions of the University and the respective heads of institutions to complete their academic responsibilities holistically and ensure that the examination and evaluation processes of end semester 2023-24 are carried out efficiently while adhering to the highest ethical standards.
Also, I congratulate every passing out student of 2023-24 for completing the respective program and extend my best wishes for all success ahead.
Good Luck
Jai Hind!
