Date: 15th August 2025
The 79th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Institute of Technology, Tanakpur (a campus institute of Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun).
The program commenced with the flag hoisting and National Anthem by the Director of the Institute, Prof. Hardwari Lal Mandoriya.
In his address, Prof. Mandoriya highlighted the significance of Independence Day, recalling that countless known and unknown freedom fighters sacrificed their lives so that today’s generation can breathe in a free India. He urged the youth to understand the real value of freedom and to embrace discipline, hard work, and moral values in their lives.
He emphasized that the theme of the 79th Independence Day – “Naya Bharat” (New India) – places youth at the center of nation-building. Education, he said, must be linked with ethics and values, in line with the objectives of the National Education Policy.
Prof. Mandoriya also encouraged the staff and students to use social media and technological resources wisely, for self-growth and in the service of the nation. He inspired everyone to take a pledge to contribute to building a “New India” through their knowledge, skills, and actions.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks and distribution of sweets among all participants. The celebration served as a reminder of India’s glorious heritage, the sacrifices of freedom fighters, and the commitment to building a self-reliant nation.
